March 21, 2010

Recognizing GROUP Team Members That Go Above and Beyond

At GROUP Contractors, we take pride in fostering a culture built on Integrity, Safety, Teamwork, and Heroic Effort. Our Challenge Coin Program is one way we recognize employees who exemplify these values, stepping up without being asked and setting the standard for excellence.

As we wrap up Q1 of 2025, we want to highlight four outstanding individuals who received Challenge Coins for their commitment to our core values.

Daniel Artigue, Safety Challenge Coin

Daniel’s dedication to safety is second to none. As a leader, he consistently ensures that his team follows best practices, tackles challenges head-on, and executes projects with precision and care. His commitment to Delivering Beyond Expectations makes him an invaluable asset to our team.

Shannon Bergeron, Teamwork Challenge Coin

Shannon is the definition of teamwork in action. Whether on a project site or at the Yard, he always goes above and beyond to support the team. His dedication to safety and quality sets the bar high, and his positive attitude reflects the true spirit of GROUP Contractors.

Justin Tassin, Be the Hero Challenge Coin

Justin’s recent achievement proves why he deserves the “Be the Hero” Challenge Coin. He took on a seemingly impossible challenge, stayed diligent over months of problem-solving, and successfully resolved a major issue that could have impacted an upcoming project. His commitment, perseverance, and problem-solving skills are truly inspiring.

Claudia Cantu, Teamwork Challenge Coin

In just seven months with GROUP, Claudia has already made a significant impact. Her positive attitude, dedication, and drive to support the workforce have not gone unnoticed. She continuously goes the extra mile to ensure our teams have what they need to succeed, making her an invaluable part of the GROUP family.

Zach Metrejean, Be the Hero Challenge Coin

Zach was recognized for his outstanding attention to detail in transferring awarded projects from Estimating to Operations, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition. His dedication to Delivering Beyond Expectations is a testament to the hard work and commitment that drives our success.

Turner-ExxonMobil LA CCS Project Site Team, Safety Challenge Coin

The Turner-ExxonMobil LA CCS Project Site Team’s commitment to safety resulted in zero incidents or accidents, as commended daily by Turner and ExxonMobil throughout the project. Well done, team, and thank you for Delivering Beyond Expectations!

Sean Delacerda, Nathan Lebo, Damian Loland, and Jeff Rose, Safety Challenge Coin

During a recent weekend project in a nontraditional setting where it would have been easy to let safety slide, this crew remained committed to safety, following all protocols and wearing PPE without exception. Their dedication to our safety culture never wavered, proving that safety isn’t just a rule—it’s who we are. To recognize their commitment, we awarded them the GROUP Contractors “Safety” Challenge Coin.

As we move into Q2, we look forward to recognizing more incredible team members who live out our core values every day. Thank you to Daniel, Shannon, Justin, and Claudia for setting the standard!
