Our GROUP team members attended ABC’s National Convention in Long Beach, California, for a few days of networking, educational seminars, competitions and awards ceremonies. We are so proud to have taken home a few awards along the way!
Lance Arvel Named ABC National Young Professional of the Year
Our own Lance Arvel was named the ABC National Professional of the Year! After being chosen among 50 applicants, Lance participated with two other finalists in an interview process, where he explained how he embodies the Merit Shop Philosophy to take home the award. Lance has been a member of our team for about a year and a half and has been involved as a leader in the community and the ABC Pelican Chapter for many more. “National Young Professional of the Year means a tremendous amount because the process taught me so much about who I am. My story shaped the man I am today. What a great honor to represent my company and my ABC chapter, and I look forward to carrying the torch this year,” Lance said after receiving his award.
GROUP Takes Home National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award
We’re honored to have been awarded a National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award for our work on Downtown Baton Rouge’s City Hall Plaza. It’s humbling to be recognized for meeting the prestigious standards set by our industry’s premier competition, but more importantly, it is a privilege to build a better and stronger Louisiana through innovation and quality. Tedious planning, execution and delivering our redesign of the City Hall Plaza was well worth the end result, regardless of the national recognition!
LSU Construction Management Team Wins 3rd Place at ABC Construction Management Competition (CMC)
GROUP team member Brandon Brignac competed with the LSU Construction Management (CM) team, where they took home third place overall and third place in estimating! Their process included receiving a request for a proposal (RFP), submitting a bid, drawing out an addendum and taking a written exam. “My team and I are grateful for this experience because it accelerated our careers and provided great networking opportunities. We’ve walked away from this with hands-on, real-life experience,” Brignac said after the competition.
