In 1996, David established GROUP in the industrial building sector to grow its experience and reputation. After successfully doing so, he oversaw the expansion into drilled shafts, civil construction, commercial projects, deep foundations and more to establish it as one of the Gulf South’s premier contractors.

Shane Kirkpatrick has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry at GROUP Contractors
and has served as the company’s President for the last 15 years.

After serving in the United States Army, Shane joined the GROUP team in 1998 as a laborer while still in
college. Since then, he’s held the title of Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and Operations
Manager before officially being promoted to President.

A dynamic leader who knows the inner workings of our organization, he oversees all facets of company
operations, including estimating, purchasing, project management, safety, sales and marketing,
workforce and business development, job costing, and more.

Shane has served as a board member for the ABC Bayou Chapter, ABC Pelican Chapter, and ABC
National. Currently, Shane serves as the ABC Pelican ICC Committee Chairman and Vice Chair of
Governmental Relations.

Shane’s philanthropic endeavors align with GROUP’s commitments to the communities they serve
through not only sponsorships but also in action. Most recently, Shane was part of the American Cancer
Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign and personally helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for the
cause and currently serves on the Baton Rouge General Foundation Board of Governors. Shane resides
in Baton Rouge with his wife, Andi, and three sons.

Dane joined the GROUP team as Chief Financial Officer in 2009, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in Public Accounting. Dane is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting and has been a Licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1994. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Louisiana Society of CPAs, and Construction Financial Management Association.

As a member of the GROUP Contractors family since 2007, Dustin has served in various capacities including Field Construction Foreman, Superintendent, Site Manager, Estimator, Estimating Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager. In his current role as Vice President of Operations, Dustin oversees daily construction operations, including field, safety, quality, client service, and project financial aspects to guarantee excellent service and superior results.

With over 30 years of proven industry experience, Mike is responsible for creating, implementing and advising the best in safety culture for our company in compliance with mandated health and safety codes. A strong believer in company and employee wellbeing, he works closely alongside each of our departments to determine the best way to invest in their needs to bring about overall success.

Hunter joined GROUP in 2014 after earning a degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University. Growing up in the industry instilled an early admiration for precise and safe execution of construction projects achieved through coordinated efforts and teamwork. As Business Development Manager, Hunter utilizes his background in project estimation and management to strengthen client relationships and develop innovative strategies for both new and current clients.
